Poetry: Echosightings Vol II, ALIEN NATION

Ensconced behind the
gates
to their glass and concrete towers
From home to
Porsche
to office
to new favourite
watering hole or
overpriced sky lounge
they go
Walled in
Walled off
A hermetic bubble that
shifts
to
private beaches
Where they cheerily exploit
Holidays
to which they have no other
connection
They
are foreigners and tourists in
Their own country
An alien nation
oblivious to
the coming bonfire
