School Ties: GRADUATING CLASS MAKES BIG DONATION TO CAMPION

"Yes, we know how people perceive Campion College and what is said out there about the school, but the simple truth is there are students here, who by virtue of hard work and application have made a place for themselves academically, but financially, they need help."

So said Campion College Graduating Class of '82 David Magnus as he joined a group of Class of '82 members in presenting a cheque for $815,000, as well as  two (2) AED Defibrillators during the morning assembly at the school on Monday. The donation was met with stirring applause from the students and faculty members present.

The donation represented funds raised from a week of activities encompassing the 35th Year Reunion of the Class, including a number of entertainment events and the sale of comemorative T-shirts and other memorabilia.

The funds will support a number of student welfare programmes at the school, consistently one of the top academic performing secondary schools in the nation. The defibrillators will be used both to support the schools sports teams as well as for cases of on-campus emergency.

Accepting on behalf of the  school, Guidance Counsellor Dominque Rose (Principal Grace Batson was unavoidably absent), thanked the Group for "sharing, caring and remembering those who have come after them" and charged the current students to adopt the example of the Class of '82 in giving back to the institution.
