Known in his legal practice as Hugh Faulkner, singer Hugo Barrington, heads to the Alibi this Wednesday as apart of the lounge's popular "Cocktails and Jazz" weekly showcase series. Barrington will be supported by Alibi house band, Ozou'ne and Pon Fyah (Carlton Jarrett on bass, Richardo Campbell on drums).
The event starts at 8:00 pm with instrumental selections from the band. Michael "Mikey T" Thompson, of KOOL97 FM provides sound. There is no cover charge.
Barrington, who is known for songs such as Loving Is a Thing (Lawdy Lawdy), So For Your Love and True Love, maintains his passion for performing and recording despite the demands of a legal career, and released new material intermittently.
"In-between my law practice I have been writing and seeking to settle on the melodies for new material. My renewed philosophy is to guarantee all my songs to be inspirational, educational or promote love," Barrington told the Jamaica Observer in a previous interview.
The Alibi is located in the Lee Gore Business centre, on Upper Waterloo Road (next to Megamart)
