Canadian rapper Snow is celebrating the 25th anniversary of his song Informer topping the Billboard pop singles chart.
According to PR Newswire, he released a reworked recording of the hit, titled Informer 2018 (Audiofreaks Mix), last Friday. It is distributed by Radikal Records, a New York company that has worked with hip hop and rock acts like Sinead O'Connor.
Informer was not a big hit in Jamaica, but it got enough airplay to launch Snow's career in the country. He had a massive hit in Jamaica in 1997 with the all-star Anything For You; his 1995 album featured songs produced by Junior Reid.
Informer was the lead single from Snow's (born Darren Kenneth O'Brien) debut album, 12 Inches of Snow, which sold over eight million copies internationally. The 14-track set boasted tracks including Girl, I've Been Hurt, Champion Sound, and Runaway.
Since the death of his wife from cancer in 2009, he has focussed more on health, housing and children's charities.
