When Diana Nyad arrived on the shore of Key West after fifty-three hours of grueling swimming across an epic ocean, she not only set a world record—becoming the first person to swim the shark-infested waters between Cuba and Florida with no cage for protection—she also succeeded in fulfilling a dream she first chased at age twenty-eight and at long last achieved when she was sixty-four.

Music bio: Amnesia, the Musical name You Won't Forget

31-year old Kevin Williams, whom you will come to better know as Amnesia, is an entertainer at heart and loves to joke around and make people happy.

Kingston-born and raised, Kevin started singing - where else? - in the church; the Seventh Day Adventist Church choir to be specific and has been beloved from an early age for his vocal range and natural energy.   Jamaica.

Whilst pursuing his music career he also became involved in street dancing and has developed his other talent as a Magician.

He has worked as a Magician and Musician on shows and in Hotels all over the Island.  Staying for six months at a time during the tourist season in Negril from 2011 to 2015.  During this period he had regular work as a singer at venues such as Bourbon Beach, The Boat Bar, Drifters Bar and Roots Bamboo.  He often also worked in the surrounding towns as well as Montego Bay and is as well known on the West Coast as he is in his home City of Kingston.

In 2008 Kevin entered Rising Star as the lead singer as part of a trio called R3.  They reached the top ten.  Following Rising Star R3 disbanded and Kevin again pursued his solo career.

Music: Janet's Seven-Year Itch

This fall, Janet Jackson will make her much-needed comeback after a seven-year hiatus from music. She's already announced the North American leg of her global tour, and, as promised, now she's shared some new music from her upcoming album (presumably titled Conversations in a Cafe). On Twitter today, she teased a snippet of a new piano-driven ballad with a note: "I wanna tell you how important you are to me!" In the song, she's either singing to her husband, Wissam Al Mana, or (and we hope) her loyal fans — because who wouldn't want to make Janet Jackson feel wanted? Leave it to Janet to bring back the fan-appreciation interlude

Profiles in Music: Di Govanah

Desmond Ray Williams began his career as Di Govanah at age 15 when he stamped his class as a talented  lyricist by decimating his teacher in a DJ showdown on a concert at his school, Maldon High, St James. With his star potential now exposed, Di Govanah's fan base quickly started to grow and by age 17 he had already recorded two albums: "Combination" and "Musically Equipped".

From those relatively humble beginnings, Williams matured rapidly in the business, and has racked up an enviable list of performance credits, including Reggae Sumfest and Reggae Fever. On the recording front, his output includes such tracks as "Time Like This", "Jah Say Don't" and "Inna Trouble."

Having been thus seasoned, the artiste believes he is close to the top of his game creatively, and anticipates a busy period over the coming months , during which time he will appear on several local shows whilst he prepares for a European trip come this summer. To accompany him on that tour of the continent is Swiss band Gully Echo, with producer Aron Franchetti. 

Ahead of that though, Govanah remains very active in the studios and is set to release a new EP, entitled "(Jam) Session". Already his fans are eagerly anticipating his arrival and commonly regard him as the "Young Peter Tosh". Accompanying him on this tour is
