Poetry: A THREE-FOLD CORD (Threads of Empire)

A THREE-FOLD CORD(threads of Empire)
An empire with
It's treasure so intricately
Intertwined
Begins to
Unravel
Unfurl
Grip slipping
Pummeled by military
Misfortunes
Where once chains if
Iron marked rusty furrows
In human fields
Now the bonds of
promised fortune
Haul thousands across
broad seas and narrow
Isthmus
into this unique land
Fashioned by the hand
of God
to open itself
To serge them into
A more vibrant
More robust
Garment
The hem of which may
fray
And the colours fade
like memories of
Hills and paddies
left behind
But a cloak in which many
Can walk
as one
