Music: Major Lazer Lock in to Mas Camp... again

In what is fast becoming a Christmas (or at least December) tradition, dance-pop-dancehall-DJ conglomerate Major Lazer is ready for what will be its 5th Jamaican jaunt, at the now Mas Camp (the event actually debuted on the UWI campus). Last year's showcase is still being talked about in near-reverent tones, and this writer has heard several promising themselves that this year's instalment - on December 16 -  is a must-go.

Promoter Kamal Bankay, himself part of party-rockers 3Rd DIMENSION, is teasing the inclusion of a "major surprise act" amid the usual assurances of security, parking, food and beverage. No name dropped yet, but the full Major Lazer crew will be in effect, having a banner year behind their chart-topping "Peace is the Mission" album.

The group's Walshy Fire is also promising new, never-before-heard Lazer tracks that they have been working on while fulfilling their myriad obligations, to go along with material already released featuring Nikki Minaj and Party Next Door among others.

Tickets are on sale at Ribbiz Ultra Lounge in the Barbican Centre
