Auto: BMW Opens New Jamaica Showroom Tomorrow, With New Chief

ATL Autobahn, the Stewart-controlled Jamaican dealers for BMW, will officially unveil its new

BMW-MINI showroom in Kingston tomorrow.The US$15-million, 33,000 square foot facility will  house display and service spaces for the two marques , as well as the M-lounge reception area fro discerning clients.

Both ATL CEO Adam Stewart and managing director Mike Ellenthorpe made the point that the new centre reflects the company's confidence in Jamaica and desire to invest in  and build the Jamaican economy.

Managing that investment day-to-day will be Sloane Jackson, more than familiar to automotive interests from his previous posting at Silver Star Motors/Stewart's Automotive, where he was the knowledge and promotional face of the Mercedes Benz brand.

The overall investment on the property also includes a hotel, which is under construction. The dealership was completed in just under 11 months. The hotel is expected to open in about 12 months time.
