Poetry: MORNING SHIFT

First light brings
the first
movers
the Bumblebee defying
the laws of physics
as he makes his sweet
rounds
Lizards seek
choice bugs from freshly
cut
grass
Doctor birds
slashing
the air with
their streamer tails
orioles
playing acrobats
as they dart
hop and perch among
the leafy frieze and
curling fronds
and
the noisy
sparrowhawk
calling his own
plays
as he soars and dives

for Breakfast
