Lyn overcame incumbent Handel Lamey atthe Association's most recent General Meeting, after a turbulent period which saw other execs express no-confidence in Lamey's leadership.

Minister Grange said the country has noted steady progress made by Jamaican swimmers in regional and international competition.

“We know that good performance by athletes usually result from good leadership, hard work and dedication.”

The Minister said improvements are expected from a new administration and that she wished Mr. Lyn and his executives well.
Lyn's slate includes Georgia Sinclair, who was  elected unopposed as first vice president of swimming;  Maureen Smith, who was voted first vice president of artistic swimming; Lance Rochester, who was returned unopposed as first vice president of water polo and Carol Thompson as general secretary, also unopposed.
Florence Grizzle-Williams retained her treasurer post after a tie with Richard Hopkins.
Hopkins will serve as assistant secretary/treasurer.
The Ministry of Sport, Miss Grange said, will be more than willing to sit with the Aquatic Sports Association “to discuss ways that we can further develop the sport.”
