There are three new pieces in the Ghost collection: The Ghost Explorer CA-03, the Ghost Gen II CA-04; and the Ghost Shadow CA-02. Each piece carries with it the styling cues we’ve come to expect from Creux Automatiq. And almost Hublot-esque case that’s big and masculine. Elongated crown guards built into the case. An integrated strap system. A beautifully brushed bezel and case construction. And an openworked dial.

Now I was a huge fan of the Ghost CA-01 (which as long since been sold out), so the piece that really resonated well with me (and adorned my wrist the most) as the Ghost Explorer CA-03. I really enjoyed this piece. The lacking numerals and blue tinged seconds hand and “Creux Automatiq” insignia really brought this piece together. The contrasting shades between the lightness of the 45mm stainless steel case and the darkness of that openworked dial ticked all of my boxes.

The Gen II CA-4 shared some similarities with the Explorer CA-03 in that it was more lightly coloured, especially so on its 45mm stainless steel case. This lightness carried through to the large hour numerals and the super bright yellow seconds hand. The outer minute chapter ring also added to that lightness thanks to its yellow-coloured orientation. Again, the finishing on the case was superb. The edges were sharp and were polished to a very sound degree. There was great flow from top to bottom, and everything just seemed to mesh really well.

The Shadow CA-02 was like the Explorer and the Gen II’s darker brother. This was one menacing piece. At the same size as the other pieces, its dark persona actually made it stand out a lot more than you’d expect. Aggressive, ultra manly, eye-catching but damn good looking, the Shadow CA-02 can front as a serious piece of horology as well as a very novel, very aesthetic accessory on your wrist. The pops of red on the dial adds to its assertive, even hostile charisma. And while this may be a put off for some, if you’re in the market for a watch that can hold its own amongst a crowd, then this is it. Confidence building, jaw dropping, and definitely not for the feint of heart, the Shadow CA-02 was indeed a looker.

Each piece in the new collection is powered by the same Swiss made movement as in the Ghost CA-01, which you can check out here if you want to know a bit more about it. It’s a robust, automatic movement that has been finished well and that can certainly front as a viable and dependable mechanism.
All pieces are available now for pre-order, with shipping expected to occur sometime in January. Each piece has been made in a limited run, and each piece comes with a strap changing tool as well as a very respectable 2-year warranty (you don’t see that often). Head to Creux Automatiq to find out more and to get your order in.
