On this
ordinary day I am
Seized
by a conversation between poets
reflecting on the innate
desire
to celebrate
and the way
Society conspires
against this
about the presence of
Ecstasy + Irony
and giving each its
place
I am reminded of the
ongoing act
of resisting angst with seemingly
irrational
Joy
of re-shaping circumstances even if
the physical
societal
wall
seems resolute
Like "nutten naah gwaan"
To genuinely feel and
perceive the currents
to feel Byrne's
"water underground"
to know that gratitude
feigned
is the worst kind of
waste
that trouble unsolicited
precedes
the greatest victories
and that the spoils
hardest won
come with the sweetest
taste
