Poetry: My HEART IS A CROWN

Take it
You didn't earn it and
you'll never
have to
It may not look like much but
its chambers hold many
secrets
a museum of
flights and
follies thrown open
to you
My heart is
a
landscape
lined and
shaped by the years
of searing
rejection
and the staccato pace of
shatter and rebuild
shatter and rebuild
shatter and rebuild never
ever
the
same as it was
but pulsing
keeping time - or marking it -
just the same
dripping with all the
liquefied physicalized
emotions
that
You effortlessly
inspire
My heart is a
 reactor
scarcely holding in
the
pressure of a nuclear
desire
coursing through my body and
seeking
like Magellan
the narrow Strait
that will bind
our two
Oceans
It will never be
enough
just
to fuck
you
But love like a
newborn
leaving the womb
begins
with a
beat and a
cry
