Poetry: PASSION FLOWER

Embraced
by the aquamarine
Panorama
of the eastern foothills
brushed ever so playfully
by the
Old Man's Beard
languidly dangling from
the shading
pine
We trade short histories
between
long kisses
before decamping amid the refreshing
drizzle
to the Forbidden CIty
in microcosm
stones set in startling
symmetry
densely packed on a ground
watered
by the rivers of
Hope
we are eager witnesses to a
United Nations of
plants
especially that
Indian delegate
tangerine petals delicate like
a dream
of love couched
in extic
splendor
Where an unassuming green
pod
reveals
a breathtaking
fuschia surprise
Where the discovery of
love explodes
without warning  like
the Guatemalan pistol tree
scattering skin-coloured
Confetti
on the grassy floor
as the regiment
of Brazilian
redcoats look on
instoic
silence
stretching skyward their only
mission
Stone lions hold
the wealth of
nations
beneath their paws
Content
in the shadow
of the real
beasts
And later
in the secret booth of
bouganvillea
with Supermoon set
to take the stage
A renewal of personal
dialogues
the time the type
that need no
words
