Movies: Scarface, Schindler's List Top Anniversary Specials at Tribeca Filmfest

The annual New York-based festival announced Monday a full list of cast & crew reunions set for its 2018 edition, including special presentations of Schindler’s ListScarface, and the 1992 indie comedy In the Soup.
To honor the 35th anniversary of Scarface, director Brian De Palma will be on hand for a live conversation with stars Al Pacino and Michelle Pfeiffer, while Steven Spielberg is set to honor the 25th anniversary of Schindler’s List with cast members including Liam Neeson, Sir Ben Kingsley, and Embeth Davidtz. Additionally, a discussion between filmmaker Alexandre Rockwell, actors Steve Buscemi, Jennifer Beals, Sam Rockwell, and cinematographer Phil Parmet will commemorate 25 years since the release of In the Soup.
Also returning to the festival this year is the Tribeca Talks program, which is scheduled to include appearances by Alexander Payne, Lesli Linka Glatter, Jason Reitman, Laura Poitras, and Nancy Meyers as part of the directors section, while Bradley Cooper, Alec Baldwin, Spike Lee, John Legend, Edward Burns, and Jamie Foxx will appear for Storytellers presentations. Actress Sarah Jessica Parker fronts a new section, titled Tribeca Talks: The Journey, which will spotlight her career. Moderators for various talks events include Claire Danes, Robert De Niro, and Spike Lee.
“As we welcome new filmmakers to the Tribeca community, it is a great time to pause and take a look back at master filmmakers and some of their singular works that have changed filmmaking and influenced popular culture,” Paula Weinstein, EVP of Tribeca Enterprises, said of the festival additions in a press statement. “Our anniversary screenings and our Talks allow a rare behind the scenes look at the creative process – be it director, actor, songwriter – we give our audiences a window into the thoughts and inspiration of the best story tellers working today.”
