Music: Joss Stone for "Hope In The Hills" Charity Show

BRITISH singer Joss Stone will headline Hope In The Hills, a June 10 concert to benefit the Hope Institute. The event promoted by Passion Fruit Agency and The Xchange, is scheduled to take place at Strawberry Hills.

Singers Suzanne and Sarah Couch are also on the show, which is co-sponsored by the Jamaica Observer.

“The aim of the event is to raise funds for the Hope Institute as well as to bring attention to Strawberry Hill. The venue is an ideal place. We decided to go for something small and intimate and raise money for the cause,” explained executive producer Laura Marley. “The Hope Institute needs assistance and we also wanted to bring about some awareness to the actual institution. They have been treating cancer patients, who are unable to afford the treatment.”

Stone's album, Water for Your Soul, earned her Billboard Magazine's Top Reggae Artiste award for 2015. The album spent multiple weeks at number one and by year-end, had sold over 30,000 copies in the United States.

Marley says Stone is excited about performing in Jamaica.

“She is equally excited about the cause. Her aim is to spread love through music, and to travel the world and spread love.”

She made her recording debut in 2003 with the album, The Soul Sessions, which scored a UK Top 10 hit with You Had Me.To date, Stone has sold more than two million albums in the United Kingdom and 2.7 million albums in the United States.
