Sport Media: Cable provider readyTV "readying 24-hr "JFF Live" local football channel

Ready TV is bubbling to the ball to kick off its latest project, the digital television channel JFF LIVE that will be available to football fans islandwide.

The channel will be the first of its kind for football's local governing body, the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF), and is due any time soon.

Jamaica's first digital prepaid cable television service Ready TV has been receiving rave reviews for its broadcasting of niche sports and this programme is a clear indication in the direction they are heading, said Content Manager Kia McIntosh.

“We signed an MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) early and we are working together to build a 24-hour channel for the JFF on our platform. It will be free and the goal is to make it such a desirable channel that people will be willing to subscribe to it as a cable channel,” McIntosh told the Jamaica Observer.
Ready TV's focus is subscription-based digital broadcast television and is the first of its kind in Jamaica in which customers can top up their subscription service for at least $100 for a specific time and watch anything they desire.

“The JFF is very excited (and) they have in fact invested in quite a bit of production material. They have invested in a studio set and developing programmes on their own like documentaries and talk shows. They are very invested in the project, JFF LIVE,” McIntosh noted.

JFF President Michael Ricketts, upon signing the MOU, about this ground-breaking project, said, “As the governing body for football in Jamaica, we must be willing to explore creative solutions for the challenges we face. JFF LIVE is an innovation that, alongside other platforms, will keep football fans fully up to date and engaged in what's happening with the JFF and Jamaican football and, of course, will provide extra benefits to our valued sponsors and business partners.
