Culture: Bob Marley Takes Pride of Place for Irish Football Club

Irish football club, Dublin-based Bohemian FC unveiled its 2019 away kit  in tribute to the iconic singer who performed live at their ground Dalymount Park on July 6 1980.
The kit, a white jersey with an image of Marley’s face emblazoned across the front was released on  Tuesday to mostly positive reviews.
The club said it made the move to celebrate the 38th anniversary of the Jamaican reggae icon’s performance at its stadium.
“This jersey, designed by Bohemian FC in conjunction with our new kit supplier O’Neills, gives a nod to that history – and to the stadium’s special place in the hearts of both football and music fans,” the club said on its website.
The kit also features the Rastafarian red, green and gold stripes on the left side and on the sleeves of the shirt.
Marley is among a number of musicians who have played at Bohemian FC’s Dalymount Park grounds. Other performers include heavy metal bands Black Sabbath and Faith no More and rapper Ice Cube.
The jerseys are available for pre-order at a cost of 52 pounds for adults  and 43 pounds for children.
