Auto: "A Vegan Interior" and Other New Automotive marketing Constructs

Auto marketers are learning a new language to sell a hairpin turn into electric vehicles. Where they used to talk up horsepower, the first differentiator now is range. And in a sector that once saw Ricardo Montalbán pitch “soft Corinthian leather” inside a Chrysler Cordoba, Volvo’s Polestar 2 electric car comes with a leather-free “vegan” interior, the New York Times reports.
“I will spare you now the video of mass production of leather,” Polestar Chief Executive Thomas Ingenlath said during a product unveiling that resembled an iPhone launch.
