LEON BAILEY "LACES UP" FOR FOOD FOR THE POOR

BAILEY "LACES UP" FOR FOOD FOR THE POOR

Jamaican international footballer Leon Bailey has agreed to become  one of Food for the Poor's charity’s newest brand ambassadors.

The partnership was sealed on Tuesday (March 9) in Kingston where
Bailey’s agent and father, Craig Butler, who is also the founder and CEO of Phoenix All-
Stars Football Academy, presented executives from FFTP with two (2) of Bailey's football
jerseys. As a brand ambassador, the Bayer Leverkusen winger will be tasked with representing the charity in a positive light while increasing the brand’s awareness.

Highlighting Leon Bailey’s decision to support FFTP as a brand ambassador, Mr. Butler
explained during the presentation that “The Leon Bailey Foundation wants to assist in
any way we can to ensure that the less fortunate, especially children, have a better life." he said, adding that Leon had benefitted significantly from others who have cared and looked out for him. "His intention, through the Foundation, is to give back to the people of Jamaica,
especially the children of Jamaica who are in need. We thank Food For The Poor for the
opportunity to support their cause in this way.” he said.

Butler also hopes to use Bailey’s influence to encourage other football players and
managers to come on board. “Through Leon’s interactions with other players in Europe, we are hoping to have them join us in this initiative by donating educational tools to help our children, so they have the opportunity to continue in school and advance themselves.”
Executive at FFTP, Craig Moss-Solomon was equally pleased for the opportunity to
partner with the Leon Bailey Foundation, a collaboration that he believes will yield great
results.
“Leon Bailey could have chosen any other charity but in choosing Food For The Poor, it is
truly a blessing for us and is very significant in terms of what we can accomplish
together. This partnership is also indicative of Leon’s desire to help people and to help
make a difference in the lives of people. To give back in this way is quite commendable
and we hope that this move will be emulated by others,” Moss-Solomon stated.

Food for the Poor revealed that as part of its fundraising initiatives, the jerseys and other items, will be included in a Silent Auction, which will help to raise funds to support its various
programmes and projects.

Since he burst onto the Bundesliga scene in 2017/18 season, the now 23-year-old Bailey has figured prominently in his side's ascent up the German League table, as well as in European football competitions.
