Culture: "And It Came To Pass"....there was opened a Bible Museum

-WSJ

Hobby Lobby President Steve Green dreamed of building a Museum of the Bible in Washington. It is set to open Friday, but with only a fraction of his family’s $205 million collection of artifacts, which has been tainted by allegations of smuggling.

We chronicle how Mr. Green amassed his collection, including a $1.6 million deal he struck for 5,500 relics after a trip to Dubai in 2010. The transaction cost Hobby Lobby an additional $3 million in July to settle a government lawsuit alleging the goods were smuggled into the U.S. Most of the relics were seized by federal authorities, and Iraq has since petitioned the Justice Department to return items that Iraqi officials believe were stolen from their country. Archaeologists and biblical scholars now say there are questions about the origins and authenticity of the rest of the Green collection.
