A couple days' impromptu reasoning led to brief, and very rewarding listening session with roots singer-songwriter Elad.
The songs presented were Carry Yuh Weight" & "Get Down". The two are featured on his DIY debut album "Echo's From The Ghettos Vol.1 "The Warning".
The project is produced by the artist for his Eloy Daron Music label and features 15 songs in total. release isslated for April of this year.
"Carry Yuh Weight" is an inspirational song encouraging persons experiencing persecution from others to draw on their inner strength & the strength of the Most High to carry them through the difficult times knowing that good will ultimately overcome evil as Jah see them through.
"Get Down" is a Reggae dance track encouraging ones to take the time out to enjoy themselves & dance despite any negative energies that might be thrown their way. The reactions to it has been great ! Its a real barrier breaker filling the generation gap as It is enjoyed by persons of all ages, especially the females I've played it for, this project has been a real blessing and source of inspiration to me and its my hope that it will do the same for others.
As you know I'm a socially conscious artiste and so this album also deals with some pressing social matters, expressing truest thoughts & deepest feelings in regard to some the issues negatively affecting the nation.
All in all, a strong debut package which bodes well for Elad's full emergence as a force to be reckoned with in the ongoing roots revival.
