Business: Jamaica Leads anglo-Caribbean in Forbes' Ranking

Jamaica has been ranked the best Caribbean country for business by Forbes magazine. In its 12th edition of the annual Best Countries for Business report, Jamaica was ranked the highest among Caribbean Community (CARICOM) group out of 153 countries assessed.
Jamaica is ranked at 72, Trinidad and Tobago at 75, Belize at 111, Guyana at 113, Suriname at 135, and Haiti at 151 (among the worst three countries in the world for doing business). The United Kingdom topped the global Forbes magazine ranking.
The Gleaner writes that Forbes determines the Best Countries for Business by rating 153 nations on 15 different factors, including property rights, innovation, taxes, technology, corruption, and infrastructure. It also evaluates factors such as market size, political risk, quality of life, workforce, freedom, red tape and investor protection.
