“Redbones is celebrating 21 years, and as part of our growth, we will be moving to a new location at 2 Renfrew Road at the upcoming R Hotel. This week we will be having a week of events at Redbones celebrating the diversity of cultural activities we have had over the years,” said Enola Williams, Redbones' manager.
She did not disclose the date for the opening of the new venue.
The Best of The Best will begin with a free jazz, Latin and world beat music this evening, featuring Rosina Moder, Peter Ashbourne, the Ashbourne Gang, Dr Kathy Brown, Harold Davis, Luis Felipe Bellorin, Ozoune, Cat Coore, Robbie Lyn, and others.
Thursday will also be free to fans to enjoy a night of poetry. Of the four nights of celebration, Friday is the only one that comes with a cover charge, which is $1,200. Among the star attractions for that evening dedicated to rock music are Anonymous, Random Chaos, and Jason Worton.
Saturday, the final night, is also free and is dedicated to all genres of music that blessed the stage of Redbones. Artistes billed include Earl “Chinna” Smith and Inna De Yard, Winston McAnuff, Omar Francis, Charmaine Lemonious, Seretse Small, Winston Bopee, and Desi Jones.
Over the years, Redbones Blues Cafe has become a beehive of cultural and culinary activities. It has hosted numerous art exhibitions, book readings, album launches, cabaret and theatrical productions, charity fund-raisers and live music shows.
