Childish Gambino’s “This Is America” won record and song of the year, the first time in Grammy history a rap song has won either award. Kacey Musgraves won album of the year at the Grammy Awards, the music industry’s most prestigious prize, for her critically acclaimed “Golden Hour.”
Dua Lipa, a singer-songwriter with major hits like “New Rules,” was named best new artist. In an earlier presentation, the combination of Jamaican chart-topper Shaggy and former Police frontman Sting, "44/876" won Best Reggae Album.
